Description
This is a replay of the webinar I did for how to create a block for the introduction of Decimal and Percents. In this workshop, I’ll go over ways to introduce decimal and percents, and fractional equivalency. Like all of my math, it is hands-on with manipulatives, movement, and art. We went over how to put together a block teaching place value for the decimals, how that relates to percentages and fractions, and ways to familiarize and hopefully memorize the fractional-decimal-percent equivalencies. I’ll also went over what we need to have learned before we start this work like place value, fractions, and magnitudes of ten. I used Cuisenare rods, math circles, my 100-block chart, and Gattegno’s place value chart. Feel free to send me questions through the contact form below.
This purchase includes both the hour-long presentation and the supplemental materials that have my notes for the presentation, chapter time stamps, a 100-dot circle, a copy of Gattengo’s chart and examples of our Main Lesson Books or math journal entries.
